Scotty Kilmer: Fraud, Snakeoil salesman of the car community: Today, we’ll explore a well known faker in the car community: Scotty Kilmer. Majority of his videos now days consists of clickbait where one either goes: “No shit Sherlock” or bullshit opinions that are extremely dated from the 1970’s-1990’s at most where usually early gen x\/younger boomers (generation Jones) to anybody from the silent generation usually holds due to usually willful ignorance. Not saying everyone those cohorts hold these opinions, but they’ve either lived through or their youth was mostly founded on the time when the US car industry was doing shitty. His opinion of “Chrysler is junk” is because Chrysler was actually shit in the 1980’s. The Japanese car industry was booming during that decade while the US car industry was doing shit then. \u200bDangerous mechanic advice: My issue isn’t his either “well duh” or shitty opinions, it’s actually his advice that could hurt or kill you. Before his clickbaity videos of him spouting his “well duh” or dogshit outdated opinions, he did some mechanical videos. The ones I’ve seen him do could actually hurt or even kill you. He even demonstrates himself not using jack stands, which even a fucking book called “Auto repair for dummies” OUTRIGHT STATES that not using jack stands could have the vehicle crush you and kill you. On chapter 1\/part 1 and page 20 of that book it even outright states “Jacks are used only to get a vehicle off the ground. They should never be used to hold a vehicle in place.” and “You must use jack stands when you work underneath your vehicle. If you don’t, you run risk of serious injury or even death. People have been crushed to death when vehicles that were improperly secured fell on them.” (Sclar, Deanna, and John O\u2019Dell. Auto Repair. John Wiley & Sons, Inc, 2019. Pg.20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
